The Kansas Department of Health and Environment, in partnership with the Kansas-Missouri Marais des Cygnes Watershed Interstate Cooperative will address the water quality impairments through several innovative strategies

Through the grant the Lake Region RC&D will complete a water quality nine element Watershed Restoration and Protection Strategy (WRAPS).

Ecotone Forestry is a diversified and innovative forestry program that focuses on the protection and restoration of the Marais des Cygnes Watershed in Eastern Kansas and Western Missouri.

Over 10,196 meals of ground deer meat were provided to hungry Kansans through the Kansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry (KHFH) Program with assistance from 3 processing facilities and 14 community food banks.

Improving the quality of land, water and life

Unwanted bikes are donated and collected from the landfill, prisoners at a local penitentiary refurbish the bikes. The refurbished bikes  are then handed out to local children who need bikes.
