Objective A:
Public water supplies will meet all federal and state standards for quality and quantity to allow community growth and longevity.

Goal 1:
Initiate processes needed to solve water quality problems of the Lake Region area.

Objective B:
Develop volunteer groups within the communities to provide educational programs to the public; create, in cooperation with residents, demonstration projects to exhibit pollution control measures; monitor lakes, streams, and tributaries with the assistance of volunteers; and devise long-range planning to accommodate the growth and development of the watersheds.

Goal 1:
Lake Region RC&D will retain and develop new partnerships among communities, groups, and individuals in the Marais des Cygnes Basin.

Objective C:
Assist agriculture and forestry markets in accommodating greater product diversification, and the use of local resources and related byproducts to initiate economic growth and conservation of the natural resources.

Goal 1:
Provide leadership in the management, establishment, marketing, and conservation for the area.

Objective D:
Promote and intiate safety and growth, travel and tourism, stabilize the local economies by developing and marketing historic sites, recreational areas, and scenic attractions in the Lake Region area's small communities.

Goal 1:  Enhance the safety of living through the development of fire protection programs.

Goal 2:  Promote safety and recreation in small communities.

Goal 3:  Initiate a training program for board members and develop a partnership for programs with other USDA agencies.

.Objective E:
Make the RC&D programs available to all people, prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, and marital or familial status.

Goal 1:
The RC&D Council can identify and encourage males, females and minority candidates to serve on the council and committees.
